FAQs
@hurricos?
Who isMy name is Martin Kennedy; I graduated FCAHS in 2014 and have missed the darn place ever since. I attended the University of Pittsburgh Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences immediately after, and graduated in May 2018 with a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics. I then moved to Vermont, and after a brief stint of teaching and working at the State of Vermont, I settled into my current job at PCC.
What is the purpose of this project?
The Hardware Connect was set up with the hope of usefully absorbing the massive surplus of hardware available at Laboratory B, the hackerspace that Martin volunteers at.
How can I contribute?
Please see the Issues tab on the left-hand side; additionally, the Milestones button in the Issues dropdown covers the bigger things that we are hoping to accomplish. This GitLab project is only a subproject of the entire Hardware Connect project group; my hope is to populate that group out with more projects, each corresponding to another use to which the hardware is being applied.
What kind of hardware is available?
See Hardware page. (TODO create link)
Do you have any ideas for how I could use this hardware?
See Ideas page. (TODO create link)
Where and how is this site hosted?
On a laptop motherboard in Martin's closet. No, really. I use Docker containers for Gitlab + nginx-proxy + letsencrypt nginx-proxy companion, which means it is very easy for me to deploy this website and maintain it.
