Get Zoom on Emma's laptops

Quick issue to get Zoom installed on Emma's laptops.

Summary: Zoom asks its Linux users to install Zoom directly via a package. Zoom does not provide automatic updates to this package.

Instead, Zoom gives a link to their website for reinstalling. Most people can't follow this by hand.

I wrote a script to automatically install this:

  • zoom.sh

If you are using a Macbook Pro generation 1 (very old Macbook Pro which displays pink 'snow' when running Zoom), please download the 32-bit version of this script:

  • zoom_32bit.sh

To run the script, please open a Terminal window by pressing Ctrl + Alt + t, or by clicking the >_ sidebar link if you have it, then follow this video:

To view the script's contents, you can also open it in a text editor via the File Manager (either Thunar or Caja).
